Thompson Clarke Shipping Announces New Senior Consultant

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 15 June 2009:The Directors of Thompson Clarke are delighted to announce the appointment with effect from July 1st,  2009, of Chris Raley as a Senior Consultant based in our Sydney office.

Chris has some 30 years experience in the international maritime industry, both at sea and in shore based management. He offers a mixture of operational and strategic expertise gained from roles in the United Kingdom (1993 – 2003) and New Zealand (2003 – 2007) maritime safety administrations, where he held responsibility for vessel traffic management and search and rescue respectively. He then joined Sydney Ports Corporation, where his last executive role sector was Senior Manager, Marine Projects. Chris holds an MBA and has represented both UK and NZ at international forum such as IMO, IALA, COMSAR and the Joint Working Group for the harmonisation of SAR.

As a result he is well equipped to identify, interpret and implement both international, national and state policies, regulations and guidelines in the maritime sector – all of which adds an important new dimension to the capabilities of Thompson Clarke.
